Definition of Psychology
In the early days, psychology has some difficulty recognized as a legitimate science, so the definition of a specific reference to scientific studies as a practice event contains. Psychology makes a point to learn the scientific basis of all behavioral and cognitive processes underlying, but also physiological processes that support, influence and motivate behavior. For this study, it is always empirical, meaning that ideas are only accepted in psychology obtained through observation and not conjecture or arbitrary assumptions.
Another important aspect of the definition of psychology is the existence of seven themes that unite the common basis for all areas of his investigation. The first theme is that psychology is an empirical science. Another theme is that psychology is theoretically diverse, with dozens of different theories to explain phenomena. The third theme is that evolution developed in the context of the socio-historical psychology, change with the times and society in historical context. These three themes have to do with psychology as a field of study.
The next issue refers to the subject matter of psychology. The fourth theme is that behavior is determined by a variety of causes, which means that no explanation, but more factors. The fifth theme is that the behavior is determined by their cultural heritage was observed.
